In 1983 I joined the Dutch " BMW Club Oirschot en Omstreken".

Together with other members of this club I make/made many multi-day excursions to various countries within Europe and numerous one/two day(s) rides within a shorter radius from home.

The total distance covered on motorcycles may well have reached 10 orbits around the globe. Still it is my main hobby, that means maintenance, repair, preparing tours and the driving itself. 

For me driving a motorcycle should be like  wandering around inside a huge and endless painting of a landscape. The constant change of panorama's, road conditions, skies and weather never becomes boring to me.

R100RS, production feb-1977, owned from sep-1981  (from 22000 km); most suitable above 100 km/h and paved roads, mainly used for longer distances and/or at higher moving-average speed.

R80ST, production jan-1983, owned from jun-1993 (from 55000 km); most suitable below 100 km/h and all roads, mainly used for short distances and for long distances over possibly rough and/or unpaved roads.

R1150GS, production may-2001, owned from sep-2002 (from 0 km); most suitable for luggage and hard roads, mainly used for (camping) vacations.
